Steven asks…
Why my blogger blog is not listed on search engines?
My blog buxtoguide.blogspot.com is not listed on any search engine. I’ve tried to submit it on google add url, and in other SEO optimization companies, but still it receives no visitors. I also don’t know how to add tags to it, as there is no option available.
Also please suggest any site which could help me to get some traffic for my blog.

Administrator answers:
It does take a while most of the time to get a website or blog to appear on the search engines, if you promote your blog in other places too apart from just adding it to the search engines, that will increase the chances of your blog appearing on the search engines, you can promote your blog through article marketing, posting to forums, submission to blog/rss directories etc, you’ll also need to consistently update your blog for search engiens to do repeat visit to it. And promote your blog where your possible targets are to get visitors who are likely to be interested in what you have to offer on your blog.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?
I have been looking for a reputable SEO company and someone has recommended this company:
http://www.total-seo.co.uk
Has anyone used them before?

Administrator answers:
Thanks for the comments, I actually run http://www.topapprentice.com and would like to assure everyone this wasn’t a spam post, not by us anyway!
To address a couple of the points:
The site has no pages indexed as it was only launched a couple of days ago.
Secondly, I would say some of the phrases we have succeded in getting No1 positions for are very competitive, minibus insurance and car insurance sussex for example.
We are an ethical, low cost SEO company who don’t tie clients into a contract, I would recommend people to give us a try.

Lizzie asks…
Dave Pasternack hates SEO, why is that?
I keep reading that Dave Pasternack hates SEO, or search engine optimization. My company is looking to hire someone for this type of work but on a news article he states that it is useless and any one can do it. That I should just sign up an account with something called Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing. Everytime I search around to see who Dave Pasternack is I keep coming across sites that talk about cakes and chefs.

Administrator answers:
I have experience with SEO work.
Signing up for Google adwords and Yahoo search marketing can help you generate visitors to your site but that is not enough for SEO.
1) It does not guarantee that the person coming in will provide revenue to your site.
2) Someone does have to monitor which ads are being chosen and which are not.
3) Someone has to know the value of the chosen ads.
4) This same person has to be able to adjust the ads regularly to optimize profit for the site.
5) Neither approach will get you a high rank in regards to SEO. (There may be benefit towards SEO – but it’s not the sole answer)
6) SEO requires work of the person monitoring the ads in coordination with the developer of the site for success.
7) Success doesn’t always mean profit. I have seen a site draw in 2000 new visitors a month, and not make a sale. I’ve worked with other sites that spend $20,000/month but their site sells $60,000+ due to these ads.
8) This work, whether anyone can do it or not – doesn’t matter. It’s a full-time job (maybe more depending on the site)

sue company false advertising?
i used to work for a company that was an SEO (search engine optimization) the company had all of us telemarketers call random businesses all over the USA telling them if they signed up for our service we would be able to put them in the showcase position on yahoo and google. (((showcase means when you search on yahoo or google and your looking for a business… lets say a pet groomer…you would type in “pet groomer” and the first 3 listings you see are the showcase positions))) now what they really did was barely put them in the yahoo and google database where maybe if you went to page 4 or 5 you would see them….crazy huh? ya well i was wondering how i could get them in trouble to stop them from lying! could i sue them for false advertising? what is your opinion?

Administrator answers:
IF and a big IF you could get all of the old clients together to file a class action suit then they may be able to collect damages, but you would collect nothing seeing as how you were not harmed by t his in any way. So you would put a lot of time and effort in to just get to revenge on them, keep in mind though that it may be awkward for you to talk to the clients considering you were one of the ones that called around and ask them to sign up. I would just let it go. It’s wrong that they did it, but trying to punish them will just make you miserable. You should however report them, so that they can not continue this practice. You can got to the Chamber of Commerce or the Better Business Bureau to see if there is anything they can do to shut them down. Good Luck.
