Staying within copywrite laws when creating an Ecommerce website?
I’m starting an Ecommerce business where I’ll sell wholesale purchased electronics and games. Do I need permission from the companies to use pictures of their products on my website?
Advice on staying with copywrite laws is greatly appreciated.

Administrator answers:
That is a very tricky question. Originally, we thought to use manufacturer supplied images, and for an article we wrote several chemical companies were contacted. Most companies were very nice and helpful, however Wynns chemical wanted final editorial approval before they would consider supplying images and even protested when we suggested we would take our own photos. All the photos of products we have on our site were taken by us or commissioned by us. Even with this approach, and contacting the companies some express a serious dislike.
This is the article I remember we had problems with Wynns on;

What are the best submit services to use when promoting an ecommerce website?
There are so many companies promising the best search results. Which ones are for real? Which ones provide the best value?

Administrator answers:
I began using Submitnet two months ago and my URL popped up on MSN before the first month was out, now it’s on Altavista, both in the top ten of it’s category, and deeper on every other major search engine, like Google, Yahoo, etc.
I am really satisfied with it. The first three months are free and then you only pay $47 every three months after that. It’s worth it. But you do have to have patience.
Oh, and their customer service is great. They are hands-on and will answer your questions with personal emails.
