I need a website developed fast with an on-line content management solution suitable for a technophobe.?
The current site is at www.sagtalent.com. I need to be able to update the bio, resume and pictures. I will also need to add a voiceover audio clip. The site is currently hosted by Apollo Hosting, who has a proprietary solution that requires a monthly subscription. While the setup fee of $100 is okay, the $25/month cost is prohibitive. I don’t necesarily want to change hosting companies but am open to it. What favorable experiences have you had in the setting up a simple website like the aforementioned?
The current resume is in pdf format but that format is not a requirement. The current host server does support php.

Administrator answers:
The resume would be hard to update through a CMS since it is a PDF. The pictures and bio would be easy using PHP. If your hosting company supports PHP/SQL you could probably find someone to do it fairly inexpensively. I could probably help. I can be contacted by clicking my name.

Content Management Systems for basic streaming website?
I’m going to create a simple website that will allow me to stream my movies and music within my home network. I was wondering if there were any CMS out there that are especially effective for streaming. I’m looking for something on the simple side that will allow for customization as I progress.
Right, sorry I should have mentioned that earlier. I just want a CMS that will manage the site layout. I was simply wondering if there was anything special for a streaming site. Now that I think about it, I shouldn’t have mentioned streaming at all. Is there any CMS that any one prefers/suggests.
Requirements:
Simple at first with the ability to add customizations later
FREE, as mentioned, this is a simple home server project
Ability to create personal themes and layouts, I dont mind templates but I want to be able to have full customization of my website.
Also, this is on a debian text only server, I also need the ability to manage remotly, currently my server is managed using PUTTY

Administrator answers:
Hi James
a cms just do the programming side
the streaming should be done by a third party program that should be installed on that server such as ffserver or VLC
thank you

Donna asks…
what is the best open-source content management system to use for a minor hockey association website?

Administrator answers:
Open source cms: joomla, drupal. Both very popular and highly rated. Moderate to high learning curve.
Wordpress can also be used to build sites as a cms. It’s simpler and quicker to learn.

Maria asks…
Which content management system is better for a real estate website? joomla or wordpress?

Administrator answers:
Joomla would be better.

Betty asks…
Do you know any good commercial or Open Source Content Management System for a dentist’s website? Thanks.?
I want the patients to be able to login to their accounts, edit their details and view their appointments.
I know I’m asking too much but there must be a CMS or an extension with these functions.

Administrator answers:
Drupal is good. It is highly configurable and can be used for a variety of purposes. Basically you have control over lots of things in Drupal.
